WHAT IS THE PARENTS CLUB?

Harding Academy is blessed to have families who are active partners in all aspects of the school.  The Parents Club plays an essential role in this school-family partnership.  We work to enhance the educational experiences of every student and to support and encourage the students, administration, faculty, and staff at Harding Academy.  We hope you will join us!

WHAT DOES MY MEMBERSHIP FEE GO TOWARDS?

It goes right back to your student in so many ways! In the past years, in the Upper School we have helped with various projects including beautification of the prayer labyrinth, purchasing microwaves for the cafeteria, honoring the graduating class with a graduation reception, providing refreshments for Open House, and helping with various other campus events.  In addition to this, in the Lower School and Little Harding, we have helped by providing treats for students, faculty, and staff, hosting the Thanksgiving feast, and assisting with AR Rewards Days and the annual Book Fair.

IN ADDITION TO JOINING, HOW CAN I HELP?

There are many opportunities during the year for you to help.  Below are descriptions of the identified committees that need your involvement:

Membership Committee: Coordinates Parents Club membership drives and organizes committee memberships

Teacher Appreciation Committee: Coordinates meals for teachers, birthday gifts, monthly sunshine club and teacher appreciation week

Spirit Committee: Coordinates all Parents Club sponsored spirit shirts, yard signs and field day shirts

Holiday Committee: Plans all things holidays! (examples: Pictures with Santa, Thanksgiving Feast, Dessert Reception)

Fundraising Committee: Coordinates Parents Club fundraising efforts

Room Parent Committee (Little Harding and Lower School Only): Coordinates Room Parents support structure

Graduation Reception Committee (Upper School Only): Organizes and plans the graduation reception in May

Parents of Prayer Committee: Organizes and communicates the Parents of Prayer days throughout the school year

If a committee isn’t your thing, there are many opportunities during the year for you to get involved. We need room parents to take leadership roles in the Lower School and Little Harding classrooms as well as individuals to help throughout the year with baking, sending in items, and serving at special events.
